Rotating on the hi-fi turntable right now:

Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Volume Two (cd)

on deck:

Regina Spektor - Soviet Kitsch (cd)

in the hole:

Neil Young - Prarie Wind (cd)

Answer to my mom's favorite question, "What book are you reading?"

well, this I pack constantly:

- The Master Book of Herbalism, by Paul Beyerl

and also, I must say, the most important book I have ever read:

- We Can All Begin Again Together, by Dane Rudhyar

the clearest thinker of all-times.

other than that lately I just look at the boxscores in the paper

-------------------------------------------------

And finally, in the truck to keep us movin':

a hawk's talons (note:  these were STOLEN in the spring of '08, consequently my lack of success since then... I have it better than whoever jacked 'em, though, be sure of that... thanks to the talons' magickal powers),
a brightly colored rubber mandrill on all fours,
a pin and a button from lupe,
12 stones/crystals from various folks,
a beheaded queen hanging from the mirror,
a wooden armadillo from mexico via my grandparents (powerful),
a metal swan (broken),
a sand dollar,
a josh beckett card (proof of loyalty),
donna's expired license from when she was 24,
three baseballs,
some dried lavender,
green swim shorts,
a jacket from adam,
lots of sage,
a three legged toad sittin' on some ru-yi,
and a powder hound winter ale bottle cap that says - "you can havre."

VITAL LINKS

Here are some of the places that I respect on the web.  Each in their own way, I owe them at least a place on this list.  Of course, I do visit many other sites, but these are the ones I feel true connection with.

Again, for now I am choosing to exclude fantasy sports and pornographic temples...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dane Rudhyar - Seed man of the 20th century.  Simply put, the clearest thinker that I have ever been exposed to.  His works are a key to the map of all-times, represented here on this earth as a true human being, and fairly recently!

Sacred Mirrors - Brilliant artistic visions and words from Alex Grey.  This man really has his head on straight, in my opinion.  Absolutely fantastic and ultimately fascinating...

Dig the Particulars - Yup, the supergroup from the norfwest.  If I happened to be looking to record an album, I would ask 'em to sit in on some of the tunes...  Oh wait, I already did.  Ben, Devin, ????.  Check them out, will ya, live and on the web!!

Astrodienst - Certainly, a useful site for anyone interested in the wonders of astrology.  Easy online charts, simple navigation, and in-depth analysis of all planetary aspects.  So much available here, and most all of it for free.

Free Will Astrology - Rob Brezsny is definitely a popular guy.  You can find his horoscopes in the most happening weekly publications going around, and online as well.  Even for the uninitiated, his weekly offerings are pretty much right on the money...  and he gives it to you for nothing.  Thanks Rob.

Carol Barbeau - I dig her tone, and the insights she shares as to how the workings of the planets (and beyond) are affecting, well, me.  On her site, you can find monthly overviews and EXTREMELY helpful daily goings on, as well as much more than can be mentioned here.

Chang's Apothecary - If you woulda told me back at Changstock '03 (or in the basement of Dos Padres drinking and playing on any of those mondo friday's as half of the volatile band Shockamazooli, or during any of the countless times I was busy kicking his ass at the bowling lanes) that I would actually look forward to having Dr. Benjamin Chang help me along the path of physical/mental/spiritual alignment - by sticking needles in me no less - I'm not sure how I would've responded.  Nowadays, a visit to him for most anyone I'd highly recommend...

Stereophonic Mastering - Timothy Stollenwerk the master masterer from Portland.  Worked with a poor boy like me for much less than he deserved, plus I was late every time to meet him at his place.  If you are looking to have some of your recordings sculpted - here is your guy.  Living up to his words, "mastering the sound of art."
